Jay Koka: "The portico at the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is perhaps its most impressive feature. During the day, the milky panels diffuse the harsh, bright desert light and in the evening, it's lit up in typical Las Vegas style. Ideas for paintings almost always come in an instant of vision and the only decision for this painting that took any time was deciding the appropriate cars."

"Vegas is the land of "high rollers" and I think this Ferrari trio is (in the car world) probably as high a "roll" as you can get. In the background, an F50, then an F40 and in the foreground the new Enzo." A very large, extremely detailed acrylic on canvas original. Part of the “Vegas Suite" of three paintings, a 2005 Automotive Fine Arts Society Pebble Beach Art Exhibit premiere.

Jay Koka: "While the basic concept for this painting came from the "Altered Landscapes No1" 35th anniversary "Z" painting I completed late last year, the idea didn't really materialize until I saw the front of Harrah's Hotel and Casino. This fascade stopped me dead in my tracks. I can safely save that no building has ever affected me the way this one did. It's not really beautiful in a traditional sense, it is simply 'over the top'. It's outrageous and achieves a certain attractiveness in that outrageousness.

I knew it was a painting but I also knew that the painting would have to match the fascade in its audacity. Half-way would not do." “The Gallardo leaves nothing unaffected as it speeds down Las Vegas Boulevard. The landscape is truly "altered" in its wake. This is one of the most complicated paintings I’ve ever completed and it’s also part of a trio of major works that I completed after a brief visit to Vegas. Las Vegas Boulevard made a lasting impression on me… to say the least."
